He was born in White Plains on October 19, 1936 to Arthur Kley and Arlene Prudy Kley. He was raised in White Plains and attended White Plains High School. After high school, Walter spent three years in the Navy and then attended Miami University in Oxford, OH, where he received his undergraduate degree in Business Administration.
He worked in Dayton, OH and then moved to the South, working with Top Value Stamps he moved to Daytona Beach, FL, Birmingham, AL, and Memphis, TN. He moved to Atlanta, GA in 1976. He was a restaurant franchise executive for numerous years and then created a company handling residential real estate investments.
He spent over 40 years with the love of his life, Dr. Pat Potitong. Walter loved her Thai cooking. They enjoyed traveling the world together and making their home on the lake in High Falls, GA.
Walter is survived by two daughters, Cathy McDermott, (husband, Tim) of Cincinnati, OH and Carolyn Schrichte (husband, Albert) of Palm Coast, FL. He also leaves four grandsons and their wives as well as four great-grandchildren.
He will be laid to rest at Kenisco Cemetery, in Valhalla with his mother, father, and brother.
